Screenshot needed: Understanding the Approval Chain in Teamli.
Leave requests follow an approval chain:
Single-Step Approval:
- Most common: Direct manager approves
- Request goes to your assigned manager
- Manager approves or denies
Multi-Step Approval:
- Some companies use multi-step chains
- Example: Team Lead → Department Manager → HR
- Each step must approve before moving to next
Approval Routing:
- Direct Manager: Your
manager_idis checked first - Team Manager: If no direct manager, team manager is used
- Admin Fallback: If no manager, admin receives request
What Happens:
- Request appears in each approver's queue
- Once approved, it moves to next step (if applicable)
- If any step denies, request is denied
- Requester is notified at each step
Cancellation Approval:
- Cancelling approved leave requires approval
- Goes through the same approval chain
- Once approved, leave is cancelled and balance restored
